After graduating from Duke University and the University of Denver School of Law, attorney Daniel T. Smith served as an Assistant Attorney General, Deputy District Attorney (Denver), and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney (Colorado) before devoting his practice to providing criminal defense in both state and federal courts.
Attorney Smith has successfully defended all types of criminal charges throughout Colorado and the western United States, and has garnered extensive experience in many other practice areas, including will contests, business disputes, and complex commercial issues.
Attorney Smith was elected to the Colorado Super Lawyers association from 2007-2016, Â and is active in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Daniel Smith is an AV-rated attorney and has practiced law in Colorado since 1973. He graduated from Duke University and the University of Denver School of Law. After stints as an Assistant Attorney General, Deputy District Attorney (Denver), and an Assistant U.S. Attorney (Colorado), he has practiced law emphasizing criminal defense in both state and federal courts since 1978. Daniel has successfully defended all types of criminal charges throughout Colorado and the Western United States. Now in his 37th year of practice, Daniel also has vast experience in complex and civil litigation including contract disputes, will contests, business disputes, and complex commercial issues.
